Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute Presents “Pediatric Immune Resilience”

The past two years has focused attention on the importance of immune resilience. Many conferences have been held discussing immune issues in adults, but there has been a lack of similar focus on immune-related problems in children. This free-of-charge virtual educational program has three renown pediatric opinion leaders teaming with the Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute to discuss the development of immune resilience in children. Robert Lustig, MD is a pediatric endocrinologist from the University of California- San Francisco Medical School who is a New York Times best-selling author with his books Fat Chance: Beating the Odds Against Sugar, Processed Food, Obesity and Disease”, “The Hacking of the American Mind: The Scienced Behind the Corporate Takeover of Our Bodies and Brains”, and his most recent book “Metabolical”. Sheila Kilbane, MD is a Functional Medicine certified pediatrician with a very busy private practice in North Carolina and the author of “Happy Kids- Happy Moms”. Deborah Allen, RPh is a Functional Medicine focused pharmacist working with Dr. Kilbane in the delivery of pediatric care. This program will address common immune-related problems in children and the building of immune resilience in kids. It will integrate concepts related to the evolving understanding of the development of the immune system in children with clinical “news to use” from the experience of three leaders in pediatric health care. This topic is of critical importance during this time of immune stress and its impact on children’s health. All members of the health care community are connected either directly or indirectly to the health of children, and therefore this topic should be of value to both those who are directly treating children and those who are involved in delivery of care in the primary care setting.
