The Endocrine Symphony – Evaluating and Supporting the Organs of Communication

Navigating the Endocrine Maze – Unravelling Dysfunction for Clinical Success
Course Description:

Of the many dynamic body systems that functional medicine supports and balances, the endocrine system can often be one of the trickiest. With so many feedback mechanisms and overlapping patient symptoms, it can sometimes seem like balancing a patient’s hormones is like herding cats. In approaching such a delicate system clinically, it is important to have a strong model to base their therapeutic approach on.
This 3-part presentation will help clinicians frame their overall approach to treating hormone dysfunction and walk through how to uncover the root of a patient’s endocrine imbalance.  We will discuss how to tailor your clinical investigation to suit the unique needs of individual patients, best practices around what lab tests to consider, what different specimen types tell you, and strategies to implement that functionally address irregular hormone metabolism.

Whether from the natural quiescence of aging or from the chronic stresses of a busy lifestyle, every patient is likely suffering to some degree with a functionally weakened endocrine system. Join our amazing speakers as we dig deep into this complex and dynamic feature of our patients’ health journeys.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans that target the root cause(s).
  • Distinguish the pros and cons of serum, salivary, and urinary hormone testing options
  • Discuss impact of using BHRT
  • Discuss common assumptions around hormone testing
  • Recognize which tests may best serve the specific needs of the patient
  • Understand best practices around hormone testing
