Health Intelligence: Improving Outcomes Through Wearables and Clinical Biometrics
Course Description
In today’s era of precision and functional medicine, clinicians need more than isolated lab values to fully understand patient physiology. While traditional diagnostics offer a moment-in-time snapshot, true clinical clarity emerges from continuous, real-world data—revealing how a patient sleeps, recovers, responds to stressors, and adapts over time.
PLMI, in collaboration with Biocanic, presents a transformative training on Health Intelligence, a systems-based approach that unifies clinical diagnostics with wearable biometrics to create a dynamic, real-time understanding of patient health. Hosted by Dr. Michelle Leary, this session introduces practitioners to PLMI’s continuous-care intelligence model, which replaces disconnected data streams with a unified dashboard that reduces chart review time and eliminates the detective work often required during intake.
Throughout the session, faculty experts Dr. Tracy Gapin and Dr. Bridget Briggs will demonstrate how wearable data provides invaluable context to hormone panels, metabolic markers, and stress physiology. Clinicians will learn how to correlate key biometrics—such as HRV, sleep architecture, glucose variability, and activity patterns—with endocrine and metabolic profiles in both male and female patients. Attendees will explore cycle-dependent shifts in women’s biomarkers, performance-driven trends in men’s physiology, and the subtle patterns that only emerge when labs and continuous biometric data are layered together.
This training emphasizes real-world clinical application, showing how Health Intelligence supports early detection of physiologic dysregulation, non-compliance, or metabolic rigidity. Participants will see how automated “red flag” alerts can signal when a patient’s biometrics drift outside a desired range, empowering clinicians to intervene proactively. A detailed case study will walk attendees step-by-step through a complex clinical scenario where wearable data revealed the missing link in a patient’s care plan.

Her integrative approach and profound knowledge of genetics, epigenetics, nutrigenomics and biochemistry has paved the way to her advanced methods in precise, personalized, preventative medicine.
Dr. Briggs is a board certified Family Medicine Physician who is at the forefront of the emerging science of genetics and how a patient’s DNA can be altered to prevent disease or treat current ailments with a personalized treatment plan. She specializes in functional medicine, bio-identical hormones, lipidology, women’s health, pediatrics, geriatrics, detoxification, nutritional and dietary support. Her expertise in genetic testing and interpretation allows her to develop a precise treatment approach leading to improvement in all areas of disease ranging from chronic migraines, fatigue, anxiety, depression, autism, GERD, IBS, SIBO issues among others.
Dr. Briggs has two California office locations. Her family practice in Murrieta and the recently opened Institute for Epigenetic Medicine in Temecula – “There are millions of women, men, and children dealing with chronic disease. Our clinics treat the root cause of disease and more importantly help prevent future chronic disease.
Dr. Briggs relentless pursuit for precise, personalized medicine was ignited when her 4 year old son Nolan was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2005. Dr. Briggs pursued her certification in Integrative Holistic Medicine where she learned how to incorporate lifestyle medicine into her own and her patient’s lives. Today, her son Nolan is nineteen years old and continues to motivate Dr. Briggs to empower patients to live an inspired healthy life. As the medical director for EpigeneticsRx, Dr. Briggs is breaking new ground and leading the way for other physicians to follow in her footsteps.
