It is virtually impossible to keep up with the rate of development of new information of clinical importance surrounding the gut-brain connection to functional alterations in mood, mental clarity and symptoms associated with the digestive system that has been termed the “second brain”.
Fortunately this course leverages the expertise of two acknowledged world experts in the field to provide the latest clinical insights into this rapidly evolving field. Dr. Ted Dinan is an Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry and a Principal Investigator in APC Microbiome Labs Ireland at University College Cork. In 2019, he was ranked by Expertscape as the #1 global expert on the microbiota. His main research interest is in the role of the gut microbiota in stress related disorders.
Dr. Eamonn Quigley is the David M. Underwood Chair of Medicine in Digestive Disorders, Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and a Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College at Houston Methodist Hospital. He was President of the World Gastroenterology Organization from 2005 to 2009 and President of the American College of Gastroenterology from 2008 to 2009. He was Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Gastroenterology from 1997 to 2003.
This conference will be “one of a kind” in providing insights into this rapidly evolving field from both the research and clinical perspective. Their presentations will take create a window of understanding into the past, present and future applications of prebiotics, probiotics, synbiotics, and postbiotics and their relationship to functional status of the gut-brain axis.
Any health care provider interested in the clinical importance of the gut-brain axis will not want to miss this conference. The focus of this conference will be on delivering useful information that can be translated into clinical practice and patient education. You will not want to miss this program.
