12th Annual Thought Leaders Consortium: Advanced Course on Immuno-Metabolism
Applications to Insulin Resistance, Sarcopenia, Muscle Weakness, Post-Viral Fatigue, Pre-Autoimmune, and Cognitive Impairment
A major advance has been made in the clinical understanding of the relationship between alteration in immuno-metabolic function and chronic illness. The dysfunction in immuno-metabolic function connects to a wide range of clinical problems including, but not limited to, post-viral illness, sarcopenia and muscle weakness, early-stage autoimmune disorders, and issues associated with mental health such as depression and cognitive impairment.
This program will focus on these major clinical problems associated with altered immuno-metabolic function. The presentations from the expert faculty will incorporate both assessment and personalized lifestyle medical interventions related to the management of these complex clinical issues that require a systems approach to their management.
This program will be held at the beautiful Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort Hotel on the beach front in Dana Point, California.
This program will cover the following topics:
Sarcopenia and Immunometabolism
- Understand the role of immuno-metabolism in the development and progression of sarcopenia.
- Explore how age-related changes in immune function and metabolism contribute to muscle loss.
- Discuss potential therapeutic interventions targeting the immunometabolic aspects of sarcopenia.
Post-Viral Illness and Immuno-Metabolic Sequelae
- Examine the lingering effects of viral infections on the immune system and metabolic health.
- Investigate the role of chronic inflammation and altered metabolism in post-viral fatigue and other sequelae.
- Explore strategies for restoring immune-metabolic balance in individuals recovering from viral illnesses.
Insulin Resistance and Immunometabolism
- Delve into the reciprocal relationship between insulin resistance and immune responses.
- Explore the impact of chronic inflammation on insulin sensitivity.
- Discuss innovative approaches to managing insulin resistance by modulating immuno-metabolic pathways.
Cognitive Impairment and Immunometabolism
- Explore the link between neuroinflammation, cognitive decline, depression, and metabolic dysfunction.
- Investigate how immune-metabolic interactions contribute to conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive impairments.
- Discuss potential interventions to support cognitive health through immuno-metabolic modulation.
Fatigue: Unraveling the Immuno-Metabolic Connection
- Examine the role of immune system dysregulation and altered metabolism in fatigue.
- Explore conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome and their immunometabolic underpinnings.
- Discuss strategies for managing fatigue by addressing immunometabolic imbalances from a mitochondrial support perspective.
