Thomas Brown, MD, MBA serves as Executive Director of the Swedish Cancer Institute and as the Co-Chair of the Cancer Leadership Council for Providence Health & Services. Dr. Brown has served as professor of medicine and COO of the University of Arizona Cancer Center, and on the faculty of the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Duke University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The Johns Hopkins University, and an MBA from Rice University. A graduate of the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Brown completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Florida and a fellowship in medical oncology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Brown’s clinical practice and research have focused on therapeutic development in gastrointestinal malignancies. His professional and academic interests include healthcare administration and policy, as well as international healthcare delivery systems. Dr. Brown serves on numerous boards, to include: Institute for Systems Biology; P4 Medicine Institute; American Cancer Society Great West Division; The Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research; and the Susan G. Komen, Puget Sound.
