2017 TLC Overview

Thought Leaders Consortium

Event Description:

The Fifth Annual Thought Leaders Consortium is organized by the Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Institute under the leadership of PLMI President, Jeffrey Bland, PhD. In 2015 and 2016, PLMI hosted successful annual meetings that introduced the concepts of precision, personalized, lifestyle health care. These concepts are embedded in a systems biology approach to managing chronic disease and they also support the development of the field of scientific wellness. At the core of the scientific wellness movement is the belief that health care should be predictive, preventive, personalized and participatory. Application of this concept is achieved through the use of new digital assessment tools that represent the latest advancements in the biological, medical, information, biometric, exercise and social sciences. The 2017 Thought Leaders Consortium will explore how these pioneering technologies are advancing the era of scientific wellness, as well as how functional medicine approaches to applying systems biology in clinical practice will transform health care significantly—from small clinics to large institutional systems—in the 21st century.
